The complaint against Glen Drew Lundt, president of the Clintonville Board of Education — which resulted in an investigation by an independent counsel and Lundt being censured by the board — has been released.
A piece in the Feb. 26, 2026 issue of the New London Press Star covered the complaint release. According to the story:
Through the Wisconsin Public Records Law, the Clintonville Tribune-Gazette filed an open records request for a copy of the complaint document that was submitted by the complainant. The Tribune-Gazette received that document on Feb. 16. Up until now, nothing from the complaint had been released to the public.
The complaint alleged Lundt violated school district policy and state law be disclosing closed session confidential discussions to the complainant.
The complaint also includes a list of board meetings and alleged violations that Lundt made at each board meeting.
The list included timestamp information as to when the violation took place at each meeting.
Some of the board violations alleged against Lundt included using his phone during meetings, raising his voice to other board members, throwing papers at a meeting, and talking about things that happened in closed session.
Some of the things Lundt was alleged to have done after he became president of the board, included: needing to be reminded at several meetings to read the meeting opening statement and that a roll call vote was needed to adjourn meetings, yelled at Michael Engel during the public comments of a meeting, allowed a citizen to speak during a meeting without them being recognized, was late for a meeting, and allowed a board member to interrupt the superintendent.
Also included with the complaint were text messages that Lundt allegedly sent regarding the school board election in 2025 when Laurie Vollrath and Mark Zachow were running for reelection.
One of the texts allegedly sent by Lundt stated,“This is just one of the many things those two have done that A) they won’t admit/always an excuse and B) keeps moving our district in a very bad direction.
“I am done being quiet and am happy to talk to anyone and everyone so please give them my phone number and I will be happy to discuss anything.”
The Tribune-Gazette filed an open records request for copies of the letters sent to the complainant and Lundt at the conclusion of the investigation. The Tribune-Gazette received those copies on Feb. 16.
In the letter from the district to the citizen complainant, it stated that the complaint regarding conduct by Lundt was investigated by an independent legal counsel pursuant to Board Policy 01440.5.
It also stated, “While the independent investigator did not recommend specific action regarding the conduct cited in your complaint, the independent investigator did conclude that Board President Lundt engaged in conduct attempting to influence or interfere with the investigation.
“The Board of Education authorized issuance of a censure (or public reprimand) of Mr. Lundt on December 8, 2025. That action of the Board now concludes the processing of your complaint.”
In the letter from the district to Lundt, it stated that when the district received the citizen complaint an investigation began by independent legal counsel pursuant to Board Policy 0144.5.
It also stated, “The independent legal counsel concluded that you were responsible for interfering with the investigation and attempting to influence the outcome by way of an ‘anonymous letter’ with attachments sent to board members and some members of the public. The independent counsel concluded such conduct was ‘absolutely incompatible with the role of Board President.’ The Board of Education hereby issues this censure as a public reprimand for the above-described conduct.”
