Former Union Grove Sun Times journalist dies

A March 15, 2026 Celebration of Life is planned for former Union Grove Sun Times journalist and editor Jacqueline M. Seitz, who died Feb. 9 at age 91.

According to an obituary that appeared in The Journal Times of Racine

Born in Racine on September 24, 1934, she was the daughter of Wiley and Audrie (nee DeCelle) Tarr. Her early life was spent in Racine and at the family cottage at Pan Yack Park in Kansasville.

On Aug. 8, 1959, she was united in marriage to Robert Seitz in Racine. Following marriage, they made their home in Kansasville, where they raised their family. She worked as a journalist and editor for the Union Grove Sun Times before becoming a travel agent.

She was also a member of St. Mary Dover Catholic Church, where she participated in many church events, including baking pies and singing in the choir; a member of a homemaker’s and bridge club, was involved in 4-H and was very community-oriented. She loved the lake and spent time sailing and golfing at Pan Yack Park.

She is survived by five children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as friends and neighbors. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Transitional Living Center for Women in Dover.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 15 from 2-5 p.m., at Integrity Celebration Center.

Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory of Burlington is handling the arrangements for the family.
