Neenah News adds new staff reporters

The Winnebago Media Group has added three new reporters to its staff at the Neenah News.

A story in the Feb. 6, 2026 issue of the Neenah News provided more news about the hire:

MaryBeth Matzek, Dave Gill and Eric Endres have all been contributors for the Neenah News. In addition, each will be contributing to the other newspapers that are part of the Winnebago Media Group, including the Oshkosh Herald and Winneconne News.

Matzek has been a journalist for 30 years working as a reporter and editor at The Post-Crescent and Insight on Business magazine, where she won a national business writing award.

Most recently, she was a freelance writer for statewide and trade publications. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, MaryBeth and her husband, Joe, (a sports freelancer for the Winnebago Media Group) have two adult children. She’s a volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul, Community Clothes Closet, Orphaned Animal Rescue & Sanctuary (OARS) and Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin.

Gill has lived in the Fox Valley area for nearly 40 years, including in Appleton, Neenah and now Oshkosh for the past 30 years. He and his wife, Marie, are recent empty nesters, and he’s looking forward to covering the local communities.

Gill started his journalism career as a staff writer for a Marquette, Mich., daily newspaper in the late 1980s before leaving the profession to become software developer for more than three decades.

Endres has been writing since his elementary school days, when he’d fill his notebooks with tales of horror and adventure. While his professional writing career has taken him mostly to the digital marketing and freelance worlds over the past decade, he’s still hammering out screenplays, short stories and novels on his own time, with sincere efforts and plans to get them out there to entertain audiences and readers everywhere.
