That means it’s time to pull out your favorite mug and savor some truly mouthwatering treats! Read along as we hop across the state, exploring must-try bakeries and coffee shops in every region.
Up North Favorites
The cozy quest begins Up North with a few all-time favorites! Up first, Jamie’s Java—a true St. Germain staple. This coffee shop serves a wide variety of coffee, espresso drinks, tea, Lotus energy drinks, and, not to mention, homemade baked goods from local shops like Butcher Shop Bake Company! It’s a one-stop shop that satisfies all your cravings.
In Sugar Camp, a new Northwoods favorite recently opened its doors. Introducing the Highland Cottage Café! This one-of-a-kind coffee shop takes pride in serving specialty drinks beyond just coffee—like mimosas and even craft beers. Pair your drink of choice with an organic, scratch-made meal or fresh-from-the-oven bakery. And don’t forget to venture outside to meet the local residents—two mini-Highland cows named Latte and Macchiato!
Central Stops
Next up, we’re heading to the heart of Wausau to check out some must-try spots! Tucknee Coffee Company was voted the best coffeehouse in town in 2022, thanks to its extensive menu, from classic coffee and espresso to tea and smoothies. Feeling adventurous? Try the monthly drink special or one of their shop favorites.
A bit further south in Stevens Point, you’ll find Emy J’s, an exceptional coffeehouse using all organic ingredients and locally roasted beans. This beloved community gem has been serving locals for over 20 years. Right next door, Main Grain Bakery offers tasty treats and meals for those craving a sweet bite or a hearty sandwich.
Eastern Delights
Heading east, Door County Coffee in Carlsville is a go-to destination. They offer handcrafted coffee, tea, bakery items, and a charming gift shop where you might find the perfect present.
