Homelessness stories due September 29

Multi Media Channels prepared this ad among its materials designed to raise awareness of homelessness in Wisconsin in 2025.

WNA general managers and publishers have already been contacted about statewide homelessness stories for to be published in conjunction with World Homeless Day in 2025.

Each October, media partners in Wisconsin have worked with media partners including Multi Media Channels and the Wisconsin State Journal to shine a light on the issue of homelessness.

This year, WNA wants to focus on solutions and giving readers tangible ways they can help fight homelessness. Often, readers say they appreciate the coverage but are not sure what they can do to solve an issue. This will help them understand the problem and how they can help.

The plan is to have WNA members interview people who are making real progress toward helping those in need of housing in terms of jobs, income, etc. The series will profile the change makers, and ask them five ways that residents can help in their efforts.

We’d love for you to participate in this project in order to reach your readers and people across the state. Do you have someone in your area working to help the unhoused population? Write a feature story about their work, and make sure to ask five things people can do if they want to help.

If you have another angle in your community, that’s fine too. The goal is to shine a light on the issue.

The plan is to run these stories on Oct. 10, which is World Homeless Day. The stories should be done by Sept. 29 if possible.
