
Former Horicon Reporter co-owner Julius Marolla died on Monday, July 21, 2025 at age 86.
He owned and operated alongside his brother and father, the Horicon Reporter, for 30-plus years and was active in the community serving several terms as Alderman, Mayor of Horicon, and on the School Board.
Marolla is survived by his wife of nearly 68 years, Barbara; children, Catherine (Doug) Kuehl, Carla Schultz (Patrick Drinkwine), Janis (Dave) DeCoster, Dan Marolla (Lisa Chirstensen), and daughter-in-law, Sue Marolla; siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ed (Bette) Marolla; son, Michael Marolla; son-in-law, Jan Schultz; greatgrandchildren, Aiden and Katelyn Steiner; and Muschinski siblings-in-law.
Friends may call on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 10-11:15a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, which is located at 950 Washington St. in Horicon, where a Mass will be celebrated at 11:30a.m. Private burial service will be held on a later date at St. Malachy Cemetery in Horicon. Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, where online condolences may also be posted, is handling arrangements for the family.
