O’Leary/Whetstone Family honored for being Dane’s Donors

“Dane’s Donors” is named for the unofficial WNA mascot and WNA office Top Dog, Dane Blumer (owned by WNA Office Administrator Daryl Blumer) and intended to recognize donors to the Wisconsin Newspaper Association and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation.

The WNA Foundation is benefiting from the “Donate Today” button placed at the top of the Weekly Briefing, similar to the newsletters of other state newspaper associations.

Donors to the WNAF are thanked in a special Weekly Update segment called “Dane’s Donors,” named for the unofficial WNA mascot and WNA office Top Dog, Dane Blumer (owned by WNA Office Administrator Daryl Blumer).

This week’s featured Dane’s donors are Kris O’Leary, Carol O’Leary and Carol’s husband Bob Whetstone! Each has donated to the WNAF whenever a need arises.

Over the years, the O’Leary/Whetstone family has generously provided funding for the purchase of the WNA headquarters in Madison, the creation of the granite Memorial Publishers Pylon in Eagle River and  funding to support the Wisconsin Civics Games and the WNAF annual Convention. We truly appreciate them as WNA members and sustaining donors to the WNAF!

The WNAF, a not-for-profit organization created in 1980, works to improve the quality and future of Wisconsin’s newspaper enterprises, the industry and the communities our members serve. The foundation solicits, manages and disburses funds and other resources for the benefit of Wisconsin’s newspaper industry and, ultimately, the citizens of our state.
