
Erica Dynes Jackson recently joined the Monroe County Herald as the newspaper’s new editor. Jackson started her new position Monday, June 2. She began her news career in 2016 as a sports and news reporter at Capital Newspapers for the Juneau County Star-Times in Mauston.
From there, Jackson became the full-time news reporter for their sister papers the Reedsburg Times-Press and the Wisconsin Dells Events. During her time at Capital Newspapers, she won a Wisconsin Newspaper Award in 2017 for Best Enterprise/Interpretive Reporting for a story she wrote on challenges rural families face during premature birth.
Jackson left Capital Newspapers in 2021 to take a position as Shaw Media’s marketing assistant, a position she held until 2022. She worked in communications for two years before returning to the newsroom.
Jackson graduated from Wartburg College in 2016 with a double major in Business Administration (Marketing) and Writing. She lives in La Farge with her husband, daughter and cat.
