Leonhardt receives ‘Editor Extraordinaire’ honor from Editor & Publisher magazine

Kris Leonhardt

Kris Leonhardt who has been with Multi Media Channels (MMC) since 2014, is one of 10 professional journalists throughout the United States to earn the Editor & Publisher magazine’s “Editor Extraordinaire” honor, according to a May 21, 2025 article in the Hub City Times of Marshfield.

E&P has saluted editors in the past, taking a pause in 2010 then bringing the honor back in 2022. The magazine says editors carry “heavy responsibilities” in newsrooms across the country, and their efforts are often not seen by the public.

As the director for MMC’s Pass It Forward internship program, Leonhardt has a direct hand in shaping the next generation of journalists. The students get hands-on experience covering sports, government and more, while at the same time helping to fill coverage gaps.

Leonhardt also has written several books, with excerpts from “Showstopper” reprinted in the City Times each week. Her latest book, “Lambeau: The Boy Behind Green Bay Football,” was released in December.
