Hannah Powell has joined the staff of The Gazette as the newspaper’s new community and public safety reporter.
Powell will cover events that happen in the community and work closely with public safety officials to ensure readers are updated on the latest local events.
Originally from West Palm Beach, Fla., she enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps as a combat correspondent. While in the military she traveled across Asia and to parts of South America taking photos and writing for the USMC. After serving five years in the military her husband brought her back to Wisconsin, settling close to Janesville.
“I am very excited to get even more involved in the community here and to meet more of you,” Powell said in her Oct. 4, 2024 introduction published in The Gazette.
