The Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce recently named former Wisconsin business journalist Sean Fitzgerald as its economic development director.
Fitzgerald previously served as interim director for the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center at UW-Oshkosh, where he assisted small businesses launch, obtain financing, add employees and improve operational efficiency. Prior to that role, he worked in economic development posts for the cities of Oshkosh and Wausau.
During his 24-year career as a business journalist, Fitzgerald launched and served as publisher and president of New North B2B magazine, a business news periodical serving northeast Wisconsin. He founded the Oshkosh-based media company in 2002 after earlier stints as business editor for daily newspapers in Oshkosh, Fond du Lac and Rhinelander.
