WNA Foundation – Wisconsin Community News Fund

Created in 2020 by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation, the Wisconsin Community News Fund is an initiative to allow local newspapers to quickly and easily begin fundraising and accepting tax-deductible donations.

The WNA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to support local newspapers and the communities they serve, has launched the Wisconsin Community News Fund to help ensure Wisconsin’s newspapers can continue fulfilling their critical mission of providing consistent, fact-based information to the public.

The program allows Wisconsin newspapers to solicit tax-deductible community donations to support coverage of public affairs and current events using individual campaign portals setup by WNA staff.

All contributions will be managed and distributed by the WNA Foundation to the newspaper receiving the donation. Participating news outlets will be required to submit quarterly reports on how funds are being used.
