Brian O’Connor new managing editor at Watertown Daily Times

Brian O’Connor has been named managing editor of the Watertown Daily Times and Daily Jefferson County Union, Adams Publishing Group of Wisconsin has announced. He started work with the newspapers on Nov. 29.

APG Wisconsin regional executive editor Jim Ferolie had been serving as acting editor for the last two months, as the company conducted a nationwide search to fill the position following the retirement of former group editor Scott Peterson, who led the newsrooms for four years.

A 2001 Watertown High School graduate and former Daily Times intern, O’Connor most recently served as the lead content editor for No-Till Farmer and other agriculture publications at Lessiter Media in Brookfield.

He’s previously written for the Bristol (Virginia) Herald-Courier, Wrangell (Alaska) Sentinel, Mat-su Valley Frontiersman in Wasilla, Alaska and the (St. Thomas) Virgin Islands Daily News, as well as the Kenosha News and Beaver Dam Daily Citizen in Wisconsin. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and journalism from Marquette University in 2005.

In his new role, O’Connor will help shape editorial direction at the Daily Times and County Union.
