The 82nd annual National Newspaper Week, a recognition of the service of newspapers and their employees throughout the United States and Canada, is set for Oct. 2-8. The campaign is sponsored by Newspaper Association Managers.
This year’s theme is “newspapers are relevant,” with supporting themes of “newspapers are local, are trusted, support you and need your support.”
A package of resources to help promote the effort is available here. It will continue to be updated in the coming weeks.
This year’s resources will include:
- A presentation that can be presented to civic groups or those that may be interested as to why newspapers remain relevant. This presentation is courtesy of The Relevance Project.
- A catalog of 100 images that can be used to promote National Newspaper Week, courtesy of METRO Image.
- Social media creative for you to copy and paste into your channels — just add #newspaperpower.
- House ads, courtesy of CODA Ventures and the Free Speech Center, showcasing the power of local newspapers.
