CWI was founded in 1981 and, for more than 30 years, has engaged in strategic analysis of Wisconsin’s economic challenges and opportunities. It’s dedicated to identifying and advocating for policies and activities that will support the retention and creation of family-supporting jobs, sustain prosperity, and protect and enhance Wisconsin’s quality of life.
Jim Wood, Strategic Counsel to CWI and Chairman of Wood Communications Group, addressed the board and outlined “Wisconsin Tomorrow” the coalition’s newest initiative. According to Wood, “Wisconsin Tomorrow” — in consultation with local elected officials, employers, and other community and regional leaders — has identified eight key areas of focus to help address the most pressing systemic challenges in recruiting and retaining the workforce needed to support and grow the economy, pay for essential public services and secure the future. They include early care and education, broadband access, workforce housing, transportation, energy, health care, rural resurgence, and community quality of life and opportunity.
CWI will kick off “Wisconsin Tomorrow” with a Be Bold Action Accelerator event dedicated to focusing on the challenges and opportunities surrounding early care and education in Wisconsin. It will take place on Thursday, April 14 at Western Technical College in La Crosse. Registration for both in-person and virtual attendance is available.

More information on future Be Bold Wisconsin Tomorrow accelerator events will be forthcoming. The WNA Board encourages the membership to support and promote this much needed economic development initiative.
