Lauren Henning has joined APG Media of Southern Wisconsin as a regional education reporter, the company announced Tuesday.
Henning will cover schools for The Cambridge News and Deerfield Independent and The (Cottage Grove) Herald Independent and McFarland Thistle. She will work under the newspapers’ managing editors, Karyn Saemann and Madeline Westberg.
A Burlington native, Henning previously was the education reporter for The (Racine) Journal Times. She started full-time at The Journal Times in June 2021 and also served as an intern for the newspaper in summer 2020.

Henning earned her journalism degree from UW-Madison in 2021. While in college, she spent two years as a reporter and editor for The Badger Herald student newspaper. She also contributed freelance work for The Capital Times in Madison and served as a junior investigative reporter for The Badger Project.
