Hannah Coyle, who joined the staff full-time in June, will cover Hudson and its surrounding area for the Star-Observer, the Hudson newspaper announced this week.
Coyle previously covered the city of River Falls and Pierce County for the newspaper. She also played a major role in O’Rourke Media Group’s efforts to relaunch the River Falls Journal as an online-only publication.

Prior to her full-time role, Coyle contributed freelance work for the O’Rourke papers along the Wisconsin-Minnesota border. She also served as an intern for the newspapers in summer 2018, when they were still part of RiverTown Multimedia.
Coyle, who grew up in Red Wing, Minn., earned her journalism degree in 2021 from DePaul University in Chicago. While at DePaul, she served as social media editor for the student-run 14 East magazine.
