Emily Schendel has been named editor of the Boscobel Dial, the newspaper announced this week.
Schendel takes over for David Krier, who last month retired after 30 years in the role. In his farewell column, Krier cited health issues as part of his decision to retire.

A Port Washington native and UW-Madison graduate, Krier started as editor on Jan. 1, 1992. Prior to his time at the Dial, he had worked as a photographer and reporter at several newspapers, including the Watertown Daily Times.
Schendel started with Morris Newspapers in high school as an intern for the Crawford County Independent & The Kickapoo Scout in Gays Mills. She has since worked as a reporter and editor for several of the company’s newspapers, including the Fennimore Times, Dial, and Independent.
