Michelle Drew has been named news editor of the Vilas County News-Review, the Eagle River newspaper announced Tuesday.
Drew previously served as an assistant editor for the News-Review, a position she held since January 2019. Her promotion comes following the retirement of longtime editor Gary Ridderbusch.

An Eagle River native, Drew is a 2001 graduate of the city’s Northland Pines High School. She has been with the News-Review since March 2017, when she joined as a part-time lifestyle editor.
Drew’s husband, Anthony, previously served as an assistant editor for the News-Review from 2010 to 2015. He now works as a print and digital editor with Cole Publishing in Three Lakes.
Anthony’s mother, Jean Drew, also works for the News-Review as production manager. She is slated to retire on Jan. 3 after 24 years with the newspaper.
