Anne Trautner has left her role as editor of the Campbellsport News and Kewaskum Statesman, she announced last week in a column.

Trautner had served as editor for a little more than a month, following the mid-October departure of Andrea Hansen Abler. Prior to that time, Trautner worked as a reporter for the newspaper.

In her farewell column, Trautner noted she would still contribute to the newspapers occasionally as both a writer and photographer. She also highlighted a volunteer project she is working on with the Kewaskum Historical Society to digitize past issues of the Statesman.

Trautner’s new roles will be as executive director of the Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial & Education Center and as town clerk for the town of Kewaskum. Both positions are part-time.

Replacing Trautner in the editor’s role is Mitchell Keller, who also serves as editor of the Dodge County Pionier in Mayville. Keller has been with the Pionier since October 2018 and previously worked in sales for the News and Statesman.

Joining Keller on the news staff will be Clarice Case, a Mayville High School graduate who earned her bachelor’s degree from Lakeland University in December 2020. Case will cover news and sports in Campbellsport.
