Travis Devlin, the newest member of the Lake Geneva Regional News sports staff, introduced himself to readers in a column last week.
Devlin is a Michigan native who spent part of his childhood in the Chicago suburb of Cary, Ill. He earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University in Ohio in 2018.

While in college, Devlin was a sports reporter for The BG News student newspaper and as an intern for the Toledo (Ohio) Business Journal in 2017.
His first professional role was as a part-time radio producer for SiriusXM in Washington, D.C. He went on to work at the Sidney (Mont.) Herald, where he served as a sports reporter from September 2019 to June 2020. Following a COVID-related reduction in hours, Devlin returned home to Michigan.
In February 2021, Devlin joined The Athens (Ala.) News Courier as a sports reporter, a role he held until joining the Regional News last month.
