The Stumpf family has been in the newspaper business for more than 50 years, dating back to 1969, when Gary Stumpf bought the Wabasha newspaper. Along with his sons, Michael and Dan, Stumpf continued to bring additional local newspapers into the family’s portfolio until at one time they owned 15 publications.
