Dynes will join Shaw Media, a newspaper publisher based in the Chicago suburb of Crystal Lake, Ill. She will serve as a marketing assistant at Shaw, whose flagship publication is the Northwest Herald, a daily newspaper that serves Chicago’s northwest suburbs.

A 2016 graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, Dynes started her professional career in September 2016 as a sports and news reporter for the Juneau County Star-Times in Mauston. A year later, she moved to the Reedsburg Times-Press, where she served as news reporter for three years. Dynes spent the last of her five years with Capital Newspapers at the Dells Events newspaper, which she joined as news reporter in August 2020.

Dynes was recognized in the 2017 WNA Foundation Better Newspaper Contest with a first-place award for Enterprise/Interpretive Reporting. Her winning entry highlighted the challenges rural Wisconsinites face following the premature birth of a child.
