National Newspaper Week to kick off Oct. 3

national newspaper week

The 81st annual National Newspaper Week, a celebration of the impact newspapers have in their communities, will be observed Oct. 3-9. This year’s theme is “Community Forum.”

The annual effort is sponsored by Newspaper Association Managers, Inc., a consortium of North American trade associations representing the industry. This year’s theme is inspired by The Relevance Project.

WNA members are encouraged to localize the event by helping to reinforce the importance of their newspaper to the local community. The content available on the National Newspaper Week website includes resources from The Relevance Project about how to make your newspaper the community forum. There also are ads, editorials and cartoons that can be published at no cost.
