Jack Miller has joined Wisconsin Media Group as a sports and community reporter in the suburban Madison area, the group announced Monday.
He replaces Benjamin Pierce, who left to join the Trempealeau County Times newsroom in Whitehall. Pierce had joined the former Unified Newspaper Group in April after nearly four years at The (Janesville) Gazette.
Miller will cover sports for the Wisconsin Media Group’s newly acquired suburban Madison publications, the Fitchburg Star, The Oregon Observer, The Stoughton Courier Hub and The Verona Press. He also will handle some community news coverage for the group, primarily focusing on the Fitchburg area.

A Janesville native, Miller most recently served as sports editor for the Daily Jefferson County Union in Fort Atkinson since July 2020. Prior to that role, he worked as a sports reporter for the Daily Union and served as sports editor of the Milton Courier — another Adams Publishing Group newspaper — from January 2019 to June 2020.
Miller earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from UW-Whitewater, where he served as a sports writer and assistant sports editor for the Royal Purple student newspaper.
