Ryan Gregory, an Indiana native with family ties to Wisconsin, has been named sports editor of the Sun Prairie Star, the newspaper announced Tuesday.
In addition to his duties in Sun Prairie, Gregory will lead the sports departments of other Adams Publishing Group newspapers in the area, including The (Waterloo/Marshall) Courier and the Cambridge News and Deerfield Independent.

Born and raised near Fort Wayne, Ind., Gregory earned his degree in sports journalism from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis. While in college, he served as sports editor for The Campus Citizen student newspaper and worked in the sports department at The Indianapolis Star. During his time with the Star, Gregory helped with coverage of local high school sports, while also assisting with larger events such as the Indianapolis 500 and U.S. Olympic boxing trials.
