College senior and Medford native Shawna Konieczny has joined The Star News as a reporting intern, her hometown newspaper announced Thursday.
Konieczny introduced herself to readers in a column, noting that she grew up in Medford and has always lived in the area, aside from her time in college. She is currently attending Boston’s Emerson College, studying screenwriting, film and books. Konieczny will finish her studies in the fall at Emerson’s Los Angeles campus.

While at Emerson, Konieczny has served as a staff writer for The Berkeley Beacon student newspaper. Her work for The Beacon has included stories on books, movies and TV, among other topics.
