Sports reporter Jerell Rushin has left USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin to join The Tuscaloosa News, the Alabama newspaper announced Thursday.
Rushin had covered sports for USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin since October 2019. Based in Oshkosh, he primarily wrote for the Oshkosh Northwestern and The (Fond du Lac) Reporter.

In his new role, Rushin will cover Alabama sports recruiting for the USA TODAY Network and high school sports for The News. The move also takes him closer to his hometown of Atlanta.
Rushin graduated in 2019 with his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Georgia State University. While in college, he served as sports editor of The Signal student newspaper and also interned for the Atlanta Business Chronicle and the Gwinnett Daily Post in Lawrenceville, Ga.
