Clint Wolf, who has been a part of the Beloit newsroom for more than 30 years, has been named editor of the Beloit Daily News, the newspaper announced Wednesday.
Wolf takes over the role following the retirement of Sid Schwartz, who had served as editor of the Daily News since November. Prior to Schwartz, the position had been held for more than 40 years by Bill Barth, a member of the Wisconsin Newspaper Hall of Fame.

After graduating in 1981 from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Wolf started his career with the Mount Morris Times, a weekly newspaper in northwestern Illinois. He went on to work at four other Illinois newspapers — the Pekin Daily Times, the Bureau County Republican in Princeton, Dixon Telegraph and Streator Times Press — and the Mohave Daily Miner in Kingman, Ariz.
Wolf came to Beloit in September 1990, taking on the role of AP wire editor for the Daily News. He remained in the role until 1999, when he was promoted to news editor. Wolf held that role for more than 20 years, until being named editor this week.
