Philip G. Nickerson, who spent time working at the Tri-Town News in suburban Milwaukee County, died Wednesday, March 31. He was 85.
Born Sept. 12, 1935, Nickerson was the son of Philip G. Nickerson Sr., and Harriet (Christy) Nickerson. He also had two brothers, Walter and Tim.
Nickerson and his parents worked together at the Tri-Town News, which served Franklin, Hales Corners and Muskego. His father was editor of the newspaper in the 1950s.

In addition to his time with the newspaper, Nickerson worked for Kilps Realty and Mutual Service Insurance, later known as Country Financial. He spent more than 30 years in the latter role, assisting clients with their insurance needs.
Nickerson was married to Anita (Pribbernow) Nickerson and had four sons, Nathanael, Jeffrey, Dan and Eric.
Private funeral services will be held, with a celebration of life planned for later in the year.
