DE FOREST – Jonathan Stefonek has been named managing editor of the DeForest Times-Tribune, the newspaper announced Tuesday.
Stefonek, who started in the role Jan. 18, most recently worked as communications coordinator for Wisconsin United Methodist Church. Before his brief stint with the church, he served as writer and content specialist for Sauk Prairie Healthcare from October 2018 to January 2020.

His most recent journalism role was as a reporter for the Portage Daily Register. He spent nearly four years with the newspaper before leaving in September 2018, covering breaking news and courts.
A New Richmond native, Stefonek earned bachelor’s degrees in marketing communications and broadcast journalism from UW-River Falls. He went on to earn his master’s degree in journalism from the University of Iowa in 2012.
