Results available for poll on U.S. Capitol storming

Readers visiting WNA member websites from Jan. 7 to 20 were asked for their views on the actions of Trump loyalists who stormed the U.S. Capitol. Out of 270 respondents, 66% said they viewed it as an attempted coup and attack on U.S. democracy. Twenty-seven percent of respondents said they supported the protest but not the actions at the Capitol, but four respondents expressed full support.

  • I support their protest, but not the storming of the Capitol: 27% (72)

  • It was embarrassing, but not a threat to our government: 6% (16)
