RiverTown publishes two newspapers, the Republican Eagle in Red Wing, Minn., and the (Hudson) Star-Observer. RiverTown previously published eight newspapers — four in Minnesota and four in Wisconsin — before merging several publications in 2019 and closing two newspapers this year in part due to the pandemic.

The sale, effective Jan. 1, does not include the RiverTown office and production facility in Red Wing. The newspapers will continue to be printed at the Red Wing facility through the end of January, at which time the facility will close.

The family-owned O’Rourke Media Group also owns the Wisconsin Media Group, which publishes the Ripon Commonwealth Press and the (Kiel) Tri-County News, as well as several shoppers, including The Sheboygan Sun.
