MCFARLAND — Lucy Ripp is the newest member of the reporting staff of The (Monona/Cottage Grove) Herald-Independent and McFarland Thistle, the newspaper announced Tuesday.
Ripp grew up in Cambridge before attending UW-Eau Claire, where she worked as a journalist and media assistant for the university. She also served as a marketing and social media intern for UW-Madison during the summer of 2017. She graduated in 2019 with her bachelor’s degree in communications.

Her role with UW-Eau Claire primarily focused on stories about students and their community involvement. Some of her work also was featured in other outside publications, including the Chippewa Valley Family Magazine.
