MARINETTE – Nearly 34 years after she joined the newspaper staff in Marinette, Saturday will be Penny Mullins’ last day at the EagleHerald. Mullins, who serves as news editor and digital director, announced her retirement in a farewell column Thursday.
A native of Menominee, Mich., Mullins was hired in 1986 as lifestyle editor of the Marinette Eagle-Star, a position she held for two years before joining the Menominee Herald-Leader as a news reporter. After the newspapers merged in 1995, Mullins became a regional reporter covering health and environmental issues for the EagleHerald.
