CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Students across the country are encouraged on March 2 to join the #CivicsForUS social media campaign promoting student civic engagement, iCivics announced Tuesday.
Students can participate by engaging their peers in a nationwide conversation about civics education and civic action in their lives, schools, and communities. The campaign, led by iCivics’ Youth As Civics Experts Network, hopes to connect civic-minded students and elevate their voices.
The WNA Foundation is encouraging Wisconsin Civics Games participants, as well as all Wisconsin high schools and newspapers to get involved with the #CivicsForUS campaign. Share your passion for civics education by letting your readers, friends and classmates know why you’re supporting or participating in the Wisconsin Civics Games.

iCivics offered four additional suggestions on how students can participate:
- Select a question to answer during the campaign:
- How can we improve civic education so that all students can use what they learn in class in real life?
- What does an equitable civic education look like?
- What do students in your community need to know in order to be informed and engaged citizens?
- Why do you need to learn about politics, government and social justice issues?
- Encourage students to join the discussion on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok on March 2. Be Creative!
- Flood the #CivicsforUS hashtag with student voices.
- Better yet … don’t tell us, SHOW us. Most students can’t vote yet, but it doesn’t mean they don’t care about their communities. Have your students post about how they volunteer, engage civically or create change in their communities.
