The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel buildings have been sold, the newspaper announced Friday.
An investment group led by Milwaukee developer Joshua Jeffers bought the properties on Thursday with plans to convert them into new uses as part of a major historic renovation project, reported the Journal Sentinel‘s Tom Daykin. The buildings received historic designations earlier this year from the city Historic Preservation Commission.
The newspaper will continue to occupy the buildings for the short term, leasing the properties back from the new owner until late 2020, according to the story. The Journal Sentinel plans to move its approximately 260 employees next year to the office complex at 330 E. Kilbourn Ave.
