CUBA CITY – Dan Burke has been named editor of the Tri-County Press, the Cuba City newspaper announced last week.
Burke, who grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, has spent the past decade in rural northwestern Illinois. Most recently, he served as a reporter for three years at the Galena Gazette.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Ill., studying journalism and philosophy. Burke has received awards for his work from the Illinois Press Association and the Northern Illinois Newspaper Association.
In his introductory column, Burke told readers he was eager to meet a new challenge and believes that serving as the “community watchdog” is one of the most important roles of the newspaper.
