After evaluating our inaugural competitions and surveying the participants, the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation is excited to announce the dates for Year 2 of the Wisconsin Civics Games!

Regional competitions will be held Friday, April 24, on UW campuses across the state. The number and location of regionals will be based on participation and announced during the fall semester.

The 2020 state finals will be held Friday, May 15, at the Wisconsin State Capitol. Members of the state championship-winning team will again receive $2,000 scholarships to the Wisconsin college or university of their choice.

Registration for the 2020 competitions will begin on Monday, Sept. 16. Participating schools will receive teacher toolkits to help their teams prepare, including a copy of “The Framework of Your Wisconsin Government” for each team member. Teachers who would like to receive a copy of the book ahead of the registration period may request one by email.

Registration will close on Friday, Nov. 1.

Competition formats will be announced at a later date. Based upon feedback received after this year’s Civics Games, every team will be guaranteed at least two 20-question matches per competition.
