Center for Journalism Ethics to livestream conference Friday

MADISON – The Center for Journalism Ethics at UW-Madison will livestream its 2019 conference Friday at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery in Madison.

The conference, titled “What #MeToo Means for Gender, Power & Ethical Journalism,” features keynote speaker Kara Swisher at 9 a.m. Swisher, editor-at-large of Recode, is host of the Recode Decode podcast and co-executive producer of the Code Conference.

Additional topics at the conference include “The Power of Portrayals in a Wired World,” “Gender at Work: Overcoming Bias in the Newsroom,” and “Real World Solutions: Moving Forward with Equity & Integrity.” Speakers and panelists include Sharif Durhams, senior editor at CNN; Christina Kahrl, senior editor for MLB coverage at ESPN; and Jon Sawyer, founding director of the Pulitzer Center.
