Erickson said he expects the farewell column will be “the last thing I write in my newspaper journalism career.” While he did not offer details on what’s next, Erickson said he was trying a new adventure “while I’ve got time for reinvention.”

In his second stint with the Tribune, Erickson worked nearly three years covering arts and entertainment as well as county government. He spent the last two decades working in the La Crosse area, including 13 years as editor of three weekly newspapers, which have since combined into the Coulee Courier.

In addition to his time in Wisconsin, Erickson also worked at a number of Minnesota newspapers, including the Winona Daily News and the Dakota County Tribune in Burnsville.
