MILTON – After more than 110 years at its current location, the Milton Courier announced Thursday it will sell the building and move its office to Fort Atkinson while editors and reporters work remotely in Milton.

The Courier will move to the Daily Jefferson County Union office at 28 Milwaukee Ave. W., in Fort Atkinson. With the move, it joins several other Hometown News Group newspapers in consolidating offices.

Like other Hometown papers that have made similar moves recently, the Courier plans to print a list of where managing editor Rebecca Kanable and sports editor Jack Miller plan to work each week. The first list will be published Feb. 28.

Hometown News’ consolidation this month has created hub offices in Fort Atkinson, Lake Mills, Sun Prairie and Waunakee. The efforts began two months after the Daily Union and Hometown News were purchased by Adams Publishing Group.
