DETROIT – Perry Farrell, a longtime sports writer who worked for the Milwaukee Journal in the 1980s, retired last week from the Detroit Free Press.
Before joining the Free Press in 1988, Farrell covered Wisconsin football and basketball for the Journal. He also had stints at the Ann Arbor News and The (Louisville, Ky.) Courier-Journal.
Farrell covered a wide range of topics over 30 years at the Free Press, including Michigan State football and basketball, the Detroit Lions, Pistons and Tigers, and a slew of high school sports.
