6 of Wisconsin’s best pie shops
Once Halloween is over and it’s officially November, the realization that the holidays are fast approaching sets in. One of the best parts about the holidays? Pie! From apple to pecan to pumpkin, and everything in between, holiday pies are something to look forward to. With a little mouthwatering research, we’ve found just a few of the best places in Wisconsin for pie.
1. Elsie Mae’s Canning and Pies
This Kenosha hot spot uses local produce and family recipes for traditional baking and canning. Favorite “fall” flavors include maple cranberry, pumpkin chocolate swirl, and pumpkin s’more. Christmas pies include fruit cake pie and mincemeat pie. Don’t forget about the savory pies for cold days, including a beer, brat and cheese pot pie!
2. Main Street Café
Pies at the Main Street Café in Bloomer are made fresh to order for any occasion, and are also delivered to various convenience stores around the Chippewa Valley. Choose from the classics, like banana cream, chocolate silk, Dutch apple, pecan and pumpkin, or venture out and go with Christmas mint, M&M, white fudge Oreo and so many more!
3. Norske Nook
With locations in Osseo, Rice Lake, Hayward and DeForest, Norske Nook is a statewide favorite when it comes to pies. Their award-winning pies include blueberry, pumpkin cream cheese, pecan, harvest apple, and a new “pie of the month” each month.
4. Market Street Diner and Bakery
In addition to its old-school diner feel, this Sun Prairie restaurant and bakery serves up some fantastic pies. Whether you’re stopping in for a meal or pre-ordering a pie for pickup, you’ll enjoy the variety of daily made-from-scratch pies, like apple raspberry, chocolate walnut, grasshopper, mint Oreo and pumpkin chocolate chip.
5. Sweetie Pies
As if Door County wasn’t charming enough, this Fish Creek pie shop is the cherry on top. (Get it? Door County cherries?) Stop in for fresh pie, or order a frozen pie online to bake at home. Speaking of cherries, you’re going to want to try the cherry pie, plus chocolate chip cookie pie, rhubarb, peach, pecan and so much more!
6. Stockholm Pie & General Store
Located in Stockholm (Wisconsin, not Sweden), this local favorite makes a variety of handcrafted pies, including caramel apple crunch, double lemon, blackberry apple, and triple chocolate pecan. Your holiday guests will be thanking you.
The holidays are fast approaching, and it’s never too early to place your pie order and then tell all your guests you baked it (no shame). Which Wisconsin pie shop is your favorite? Share with us on social media!
