ELLSWORTH – David Clarey is the newest member of the RiverTown Multimedia reporting staff, the (Ellsworth) Pierce County Herald reported Wednesday.
Clarey joins the government, public safety and features teams at RiverTown, primarily focusing on the Pierce County area.
A South Dakota native, Clarey earned his journalism degree at the University of Minnesota. While working at the Minnesota Daily in college, Clarey covered the protests following the verdict in the Philando Castile case in June 2017, an event that reinforced his dedication to watchdog journalism.
“I think it’s important to realize the work reporters do has weight, and covering major events like these has helped me realize that,” Clarey said.
