Wisconsin workplace shooting suspect had revoked gun permit

MIDDLETON – The gunman who shot four people at a Dane County software company Wednesday was flagged as being a danger to co-workers and banned from having firearms more than a decade ago, new police records show.

WTS Paradigm employee Anthony Tong was taken to a mental health hospital and barred from buying firearms 14 years ago after telling South Dakota police that his co-workers were “talking bad about him” and his neighbors were spying on him, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.

Tong opened fire with 9mm semi-automatic pistol inside the company’s Middleton headquarters, seriously wounding three co-workers and grazing another, wrote the State Journal‘s Molly Beck. Police rushed into the building and killed Tong in a shootout just minutes after the attack began.
