BELOIT – The Beloit Daily News reported Tuesday the newspaper has waited more than two months for the Beloit School District to provide a complaint under state public records laws. The district claims the records can’t be released until its investigation is complete.
The Daily News submitted its request after a school board agenda referenced closed-door discussions about a “document alleging complaints of employment discrimination,” Hillary Gavan reported. The district’s response argues that its need for nondisclosure outweighs the public’s need to know.
