MARINETTE – Longtime sports editor Jody Korch retired this month from the (Marinette) EagleHerald after more than three decades at the newspaper.
Korch started his tenure there 34 years ago as a news reporter for the Eagle-Star before moving to the sports department in the mid-1980s.
During his time as sports editor, Korch demonstrated great passion for covering high school and other sports, according to his colleagues. He also was an avid fisherman and hunter, making the EagleHerald Outdoors page a “must-read” for those who shared his passions.
One reader, Mike Farley of Marinette, even wrote in to thank Korch for his “many years of dedication.”
