A commanding presence in northeastern Wisconsin was John Torinus, editor, columnist and general manager of The Post-Crescent in Appleton. “Tor” worked 50 years in professional journalism. He started at the Green Bay Press-Gazette during the Depression and rose to executive editor. He finished his career as editor and general manager of The Post-Crescent.
