Judge Comment: A well written series of articles covering a season that will be staying in the local community's consciousness for decades. The reporter strikes a good balance between stats and more general information and overall has some strong eye-catching leades. The use of quotes in the article leading up to the State Final (both player and coach) was a particularly good choice. Also shows a willingness to provide a bit of humor to keep the reader's interest during the drier bits or. Not 100% on if I am supposed to take photos into account but the large number in the later articles are all pretty good and their presence helps a reader understand what a big event that final game was for Monroe.

Judge Comment: As mentioned in the submission comment, the reporter takes a detailed and thorough approach to covering the Prescott girls golf team. Really going the extra mile to showcase a strong season from the program, the articles weave together the coaches and players own thoughts with what I feel are the right amount of stats to enhance the events the article covers without bogging it down in too many details. Looking at the articles as a whole, the reporter does a good job of showing their growth over the season. Striking word choices also work to catch the reader’s attention, especially in the 4th submission.

Judge Comment: A well written example of a memorable single game story. The reporter pulls from both sides of of the court to help put the reader into the scene and does a good job in balancing between showcasing individual player contributions and important moments. Introduction is strong and did a good job in drawing me into the article

Judge Comment: The two articles really work well together. The reporter does a good job in his pre-game questions and in laying out the team's goals and what they will need to overcome to a casual audience. In the second article makes a good case for where the team went wrong (leading to their loss) while keeping the article's pace tight.
